RHSV PARLIAMENTARY PAPERS Collection
The RHSV holds some 2,400 Parliamentary Papers printed by order of the Victorian Government. Well over half of this collection were printed in the 1850s and 1860s. Most of the remainder were published by the Colonial Government prior to Federation.

The collection is by no means complete. A large number of papers held by the RHSV are yet to be processed. The Library of the Victorian Parliament holds a complete set.

An extremely valuable reference to these papers is Index to the parliamentary papers, reports of select committees, and returns to orders, bills, etc., 1851-1909 [RHSV Library: 328.94501 VIC]. Additionally researchers may also refer to a CD published by the Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies in 2003 which lists the names of 'ordinary' people named in Parliamentary Papers from 1852 to 1859-60.
